What We Do
Lilac City Friends offers daily, weekly, and monthly activities for people with dementia, cognitive disabilities, and physical disabilities. We offer a variety of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of our clients. We like having the flexibility for spontaneous activities such as field trips as the occasion rises or take out lunches.
Some of the Activities We Have
Games and Puzzles
We have a large selection of board games, puzzles, Wii games, card games, memory games, lawn games, and much more!
Arts and Crafts
We offer themed crafts and free flow art. We have coloring activities, painting, beading, a small pottery wheel, yarn, fabric, and just about any art or craft you can imagine!
Field Trips
We offer field trips as the occasion arises. Field trips can be as simple as a visit to the dollar store or local shops and as big as trips to the fair, pumpkin patch, or to watch one of our Friends on stage at the theatre!
Music
We have a variety of instruments available for anyone interested in music. We host sing alongs, listen to CDs/Tapes/ Records, and even occasionally listen to live music!
Movie and Popcorn Day
We have our own popcorn maker and a large selection of movies to pick and choose from for our movie days! Movies are voted on by everyone, and we ensure there is a variety of interests covered.
Cooking
We enjoy baking cookies, cakes, cupcakes, stews, food to match weekly themes, and much more! Recipes are decided together and everyone enjoys a taste once everything is made.
And Much more!
We also have a large selection of books, audio books, comfortable seating for socializing, themed activities, dancing, decorating for holidays, gardening, and much more! We are also always willing to hear activity ideas from our Friends!
